the Glass Hill Team

it's nice to meet you!

The visionary behind the dream. Wife, mother, grandmother, business owner, she is a woman of many hats and the rock of her family. The first to welcome a new friend and has a true heart for serving others. She is a true example of southern hospitality.

She has an unmatched love for organization, planning, and the logistic side of things --which is a huge blessing! With her husband being a Marine officer, her planning and organization skills come in handy as she takes care of their three small children while he is away.

An intuition for design and coordination, she assists bride's with a variety of details to plan the perfect day. Her eye for beauty is evident. When she is not assisting with weddings at GHV, she runs her own business, Betterthanbare by Hannah, as a luxury makeup artist.

The story behind the vision

The land that now occupies Glass Hill Venue didn’t start out with a wedding venue in mind, but sometimes time is all that is required to reveal a greater purpose. While we have always appreciated the view of the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains- it always seemed destined for something more. Grounded in my faith, I knew God had instilled in me a true calling for the land with the unforgettable view.
So in the summer of 2014 during the planning for my  son’s wedding, a greater purpose was revealed. As the wedding planning and arrangements progressed, so did excitement in helping to create an unforgettable celebration.

Visions of brides reciting their vows on the small knoll centered on the property with the Peaks of Otter draping the landscape became a dream that would not be tamed.
While it took a few years to gather the courage to move forward with this vision, Glass Hill is a real dream brought to life. 30 + years of marriage to my husband Rick, marriage is sacred to our family and the dream of having a place in someone else’s beginning has a special place in our hearts.
More than just a custom crafted lodge, it is a legacy of faith. We are happy to offer a welcoming place for you, as you begin a legacy of your own.
